January 2, 2026 -- Major Restyling
The joint SDNY/EDNY local rules effective January 2, 2026 represent a major restyling of the entire ruleset. The Committee Notes reference "2024 and 2026 Restyling" -- the rules were reorganized and renumbered throughout.

Practitioner Impact
This is a freshly restyled ruleset. Practitioners using pre-2026 rule citations should update their references. Old rule numbers in briefs, templates, and practice guides will not match the current numbering. Courts may not accept filings citing withdrawn or renumbered rules without correction.
