SDFL requires proposed orders with specific motions (habeas, default, pro hac vice, stipulation approval, emergency/ex parte, TROs). File as exhibit via CM/ECF AND email Word version to assigned judge. Joint proposed scheduling orders required with Rule 26(f) report. L.R. 7.1(a)(2).
When Required
All motions under L.R. 7.1(a)(1), emergency/ex parte relief, TROs.
How to Submit
- Attach as exhibit to motion via CM/ECF
- Email final version in Word format to assigned judge (address in CM/ECF Admin. Proc.)
- Email subject line: case number + short description

File "Notice of Filing Proposed Order" in Notices category. Upload notice as main document, proposed order as attachment. Link to original motion.
Joint Proposed Scheduling Orders (L.R. 16.1(b)(3))
Submit with Rule 26(f) Conference Report. Include: case track, discovery schedule, ESI agreements, joinder/amendment deadlines, spaces for Court to insert motion deadlines, pretrial conference, trial dates.
